The gallery was initially established in 2009 by co-owners Eva Frosch and hp Portmann under the name of frosch&portmann.

After hp Portmann’s departure at the end of 2020, FROSCH&CO relocated to Manhattan’s Two Bridges neighborhood, where it strives to be a leading influence within the area’s vibrant art scene. FROSCH&CO is committed to representing emerging and mid-career artists with an affinity towards witty intelligence. The gallery is interested in presenting an innovative yet art-historically grounded curatorial model that challenges established paradigms. Art should stimulate, maybe provoke—but, above all, its quality should stand the test of time.

Eva Frosch holds an M.A. in Art History from the University of Zürich, Switzerland. She moved to New York in 2004, where she was a fellow at the Museum of Modern Art, worked for the artist Peter Halley, and was the Gallery Director at Jack the Pelican Presents in Brooklyn.
